The Sliding Puzzle (also called the 15-puzzle) is a classic brain teaser. Fifteen numbered tiles sit in a 4x4 frame with one empty space. Slide tiles into the gap to rearrange them until they're back in order from 1 to 15. Every shuffle is solvable — the challenge is doing it in as few moves as you can.

How to play

• Tap a tile next to the empty space to slide it in.
• Work the tiles toward their numbered order, 1 through 15.
• The empty square is your only room to maneuver.
• Solve the top rows first, then work down.
• Finish with all tiles in order and the gap in the corner.

• Solve row by row, locking each completed row in place.
• Save the last two rows to solve together as columns.
