About Word Duel

Word Duel is a five-letter word race against a computer opponent. Both of you guess the same secret word; the tiles show which letters are right, misplaced or absent, and whoever cracks it in fewer guesses takes the round. Win a best-of-three to climb a 20-opponent campaign ladder, from Hatchling to Oracle. Short, sharp, and a genuinely satisfying brain-teaser.

How to play

• Pick an opponent from the campaign ladder — each tier is a best-of-three.
• Type any valid five-letter word as your first guess.
• Green means the letter is correct and in the right position; yellow means it is in the word but elsewhere; grey means it is not in the word.
• Use what you learn to narrow it down before the AI does.
• Win the best-of-three to unlock the next opponent.

Controls: Type with the on-screen or physical keyboard, then press Enter.

Tips

• Open with a word rich in vowels and common consonants.
• Do not reuse grey letters — every guess should test something new.
• The AI gets smarter each tier; a wasted guess costs more the higher you climb.

Is this like Wordle?

It uses the same five-letter, six-guess format, but here you race a computer opponent to the word instead of playing solo.
